I got my first two carry marks on my new Umnumzaan's clip! I can stop worry about it now! Wheeewwwwww :D It took about 10 carries to get them too . . .

The first scratch is always the toughest, once you get over that, you will be using it like crazy now !!!

My dog Ruca made the first scratch. Took it right off my nightstand. But she looked so cute with that beast in her mouth.

I was working in the garden today and trimmed some wood with my Zaan. Found out some one put a u-shape staple or nail in it and I found it by my knife blade hitting it. A little upset (that is a lie, I was pissed), I went in side and stropped it for 20 min with some black compound and then 10 with green, followed by bare leather. The knife showed no sign of hitting metal so that made me feel better (that's not a lie). Then I took it all apart and cleaned it and lubed it all up and man it is smooth opening.

I purchased this one used but it still hurt when I hit metal, but now it really is a user :).

Have to ask, is it a goodone to work with out in the yard? Have a small that works well for garden duty but is the Zaan a little big?

Tell you the truth, I doubt that is would make a difference. The Zaan was available and I used it to put a little spear point on a piece of wood my wife wanted to put into the ground as a plant support. I don't normally use my knives when I'm working in the garden, instead I use my shears more than anything. I don't think the Zaan is to big, but I assume you use a small [Sebenza] which would work just as well in most incidents requiring a knife.
