Considering I have had these for two whole days, I can't add much to what I have already said.
I will add this much though, the Flash I appears to me to be one of the more perfect pocket knives. The size is just right to ride in the pocket without being too large, the weight is negligible. The size of the FSA-97 (I) is such that it is very comfortable and capable of operating with or without the pocket clip installed (the grip is not too thin). I find if I use the pocket clip, it rides just where I want it, at the outside edge of the desired pocket. The bayonet style clip is great for the display only of the clip, nothing else. The blade grind (flat) is preferrable to me. I am not a large fan of hollow ground blades.
On the subject of the FSA-98 (II), the blade is the same flat ground. The grip is comfortable and the action, very smooth. It is definately a larger knife. The grip is very secure.
On both the knives, the blades are very good grind, weight, and design. The serations are positive without being over done. The ambidextrious thumbstuds are small enough to not be in the way, but large enough to work exceptionally well. The grip style of the flash series needs little to no modifications. I have found with other knives a need to work away a small amount of material from the area around the thumb stud. Totally unneeded with the flash.
The one MINOR suggestion I have for the FSA-98 is the rounding of the outside edges of the handle scales. I have a suspicion that riding in the back pocket of my trousers will wear the trouser material.
How is that for only two days?
I do have one of the non-serrated FSA-8's on order.
Best wishes and best of luck to all,
