I'm getting a SAR 5!

I mentioned over in the Becker forum that I have a Brute (BK1) and a Patrol Machete (BK6 I believe) that are sitting around collecting dust. One of the guys offered me a trade of a Busse SAR 5 for them and I took it. I don't know what the going value on a SAR is, but I figured it's worth it to me if it's worth it to him. He gets a couple of discontinued Beckers (which, according to Ethan Becker, they have no intention of offering again) he really wants and I get to feed my INFI addiction.

How'd I do? I don't believe he'd have offered me an unfair deal for either of us, and we're both happy with the trade.
 
sounds good. don't know about those, but i had a couple of beckers for a while. cool knives, but i'd trade em for INFI any day
 
How'd you do? I don't know, but the sar5 is supposed to never be produced again either. Too bad, it is my favorite busse. If you can find one on the exchange (not necessarily an easy proposition) they are (were) running in the $200 to $250 range.
 
You made a good deal. Of course, with my skewed tendencies, I'd have kept the Beckers and bought the SAR5 ... but I know there's something deeply wrong with me.:)

Beat the SAR5 hard when it arrives, and tell us how that handle works for you.

I beat the tar out of my sar5 a couple days ago splitting fire wood with a baton.

It really is a great knife.
