I just bought a 15" BAS and thought it would be my one foray into the Kukri world. I just wanted to try one out. Now I am already buying another one.
It is a 20" Serupati (spelling?) I am getting it from a BF member that is selling two Kukris. Here is the link. Maybe someone remembers this one.

Anyway, I was planning on getting a big chopper like a GRS or an AK but the longer thinner ones were an option as well because I love my machete. Maybe I don't need a big chopper after all.
I'll let you guys know what I think of it after I get it and have a chance to try it out. I was not in love with my BAS but I respected it for what it was. It is a real tool not a gimmick. I think I just prefer the cutting action of a longer thinner blade. Keep in mind, I have used a 18" U.S. Issue machete for over 15 years and I may have grown too used to that length and weight to switch to a short heavy chopper. I like the reach and ease of a longer lighter blade I guess. I have a feeling that I am going to be happier with the Serupati than I would be with a short heavy chopper. I do mostly light cutting like brush clearing and tree limbs and only once in a while will cut trees bigger than 4-6" so the machete has served me well. maybe the 20" Serupati is what I was looking for the entire time.
