Thanks for your help all took some pictures of a couple of my knives ,and with the help from you folks they are getting to the point at least they look like Knives.Take a look and all criticism is welcome. Like I said I am not a photography fan.

2 of my folders

Those look pretty sweet to me. I like the black handled one
the best but would be proud to carry either one.
Congratulations on some very nice work! How about some specs?
Regards,
Greg

Pics are getting better!

Nice knives too, btw...;)

Did you notice the hot spot on the bolster of the red slipjoint? Probably from some harsh overhead (or strong side) lighting.

Try this crazy idea next time you're ready to shoot your knife.

Drape a white sheet over your head (while you're hunched over the knife) to soften any direct light and get right up close to the knife (imagine the ole portrait photographers under their black cloth). Be sure the sheet fall evenly around you and that no direct light gets in. Hold as still as possible (unless you have a tripod) and snap your picture after you have completely exhaled.

If you could do those 2 things, that would get rid of the hot spot as well as produce a clean snappy picture.

Gotta be willing to try stuff, ya know...anything to get the picture to come out right.

Keep up the good work.

Dan

Much better pics and nice looking knives.

What did you do differently on the pics?

Seth I just followed a few of the tips from the other post I put up. The main thing I think it was cloudy today when I took them and I made sure I was in the shade.

Thanks Ripper the reason I posted them was because I am very bad at photography and some of these folks helped me out as usual but thanks for the compliment. The Black Handle is rag Macarta NS liners and bolsters 440c blade. The Lockback is as you can see Red Jigged bone NS bolsters and liners also 440c. The slipjoint left home last week and the lockback left today. The owner brought the slipjoint by so I could take a picture to send to a friend of his that wants one.

Thanks pendentive glad people like you take time to teach people like me. I try to do the same with new KnifeMakers that ask my advice on something.

I kind of realized that after Pen posted and I saw your other thread:o ; still fine looking knives (nice pics too!) and thanks for posting the specs. I really like both of them.

Greg

They both look great, but I think the red one could use a little longer blade. I am partial to the black handled one, though they both look like good functional desighns.

As I am just starting to fool around with folders I have the utmost respect for folder makers, you guys must have increadable pateience.

I really like the black one. My hat is off to anyone attempting a slipjoint or a lockback and it's doubly off to anyone who can make one that looks like these two! :)
