Over the last several years, collectively or individually, we have given Khukuris or various HI knives to Military Members.

My neighbors son, just graduated from West Point. He is home on leave prior to heading for GA for more training. I'd like to give him one of the knives from my collection.

Seems like SARGE really liked the JKM, Pen Knife as the two most talked about. Sirupati was mentioned. 12" or 14" AK might be a good choice.

Any of you forumites remember the most talked about. I did a search but couldn't narrow the search down enough.

Thanks
DAG

Dag, Give him the JKM.Nice little knife to wear inconspicuous like.Like the one Sarge is wearing in the pic holding the sword. :D Nice thought too......Frank C....

As I remember it seems to depend on what he'll be doing. Since he's an officer I'd think somthing small would be more functional :D

lcs?

Greg (Sarge) eventually gravitated to the 12in AK. I have his Pen knife from Afganistan. He said he like "pointier" knives, if I recall correctly.

But I agree with the concensus, a smaller knife would be less hassle, and easier to conceal if personal knives are frowned upon. The JKM would be ideal.

Nice of you.

Sarge also liked the 15" Sirupati. He had a "magic" one by Bura that he carried until he gave it to one of his troops that was deploying.

Give him the JKM. He can wear that in uniform and no one will give it a second thought. The same cannot be said for even 12" khukuri, ESPECIALLY in a traininig environment. Today's Army, sadly, is far too PC for it's own good. Very cool of you to do this BTW. :)
