I'm getting out of knifemaking, but not for good

Guys, upcoming divorce means I'm losing my shop and have to sell the tools. Thank you all for everything you've taught me. It's been a heck of a good time. I'll be back, just you wait. It won't be soon, but I'm coming back.

With tears in my eyes, I thank you all.

I hope Stacy doesn't mind, but it might benefit someone looking to move up or get started.

Brian,
Sorry for the troubles. Many of us have been there before. I can only tell you that it will get better after time. That doesn't help the hurt, but it lets you know that others care.

Your link is fine, because you have a knifemaker membership.

Drop in Shop Talk often just to keep up with what is going on and to help you stay sane. Feel free to vent in ATG if needed. I would suggest not posting your old nudes of the ex in The Pirate's Cove until after the papers are signed :)

I'll move this to ATG with a lingering redirect.

bummer Brian . Put the stuff in storage . That way it will be there when you are back on your feet .

No no no...give her everything in the house, keep the tools, when you get a new place just buy a few bean bag chairs

I hope you know your brothers in blade making stand behind you, Brian. Looking forward to your triumphant return.

I really hope that this is an option for you Brian. Unless you really need the cash for lawyers or something, I would try my damnedest to store the tools away until a better time.

I wish you all the best.

Shane

keep your tools if you can.
A couple of clamps on a kitchen table, some files and samdpaper might do you good to focus on something you enjoyed before.
All the best

Stacy should not have moved this . Some of us never go to the ATG .

I understand your sentiment, but Shop Talk is for knifemaking discussion of materials, procedures, and techniques. I left a permanent redirect so it will show in Shop Talk all the time. ATG is for off topic discussion, personal stories/experiences, and chit-chat.

Folks should drop in ATG and H&T as a normal check of Shop Talk. They are just a part of it to keep things somewhat orderly. Many good threads are in all three.
I think the new propensity for people to use their phones to check the forums has lead to less visibility of the other info here. It sure as heck hasn't helped spelling and punctuation.
