I just had delivered a Spyderco Delica in ZDP-189, and after a 'reprofile' on my DMT stones, then an initial sharpening with a micro-bevel, I'm impressed. After using it quite heavily for about a week (alot of cardboard, banding straps, and such), it's certainly holding it's own with the other premium metals...

A bit of leather stropping and a couple passes on a smooth steel and the edge comes back to original angles -- it's really a nice steel in my book having never worked with it before. IMHO, ZDP-189 might just be one of those 'super steels' that actually is living up to that lofty moniker...
