Take a couple days off man! Im sure these guys will understand. No need in burning yourself out, congrats on all the business though! You are a great maker and you will always have the business.

Bill, You do great work! I'm glad you've got that
problem! It's a good one to have my friend! Congrats....

Jason

Bill, you take as long as you need on my order. If it's a month or three then it's a month or three.
I'm in no hurry. Just let me know a week or so ahead of time. Like I said I'm in no hurry.

Thanks gang man you dont know how much stress i have on my shoulders,i eat, sleep and grind steel!! I feel like im in hell, but life is only good if you can enjoy it!

Exactly! Thats why you need to take some time. You aren't enjoying it. Hell Ill help you get your orders knocked out, Im getting pretty good at profiling ;)

Bro i appreciate it but i have most profiled, you know its the slow part now, forge, and temper cycles, you know how fast i can profile and grind a blade

Chris is right, if you ain't enjoying it then it's just a job. Knife making should be a passion.
Take as much time as you need. Real knife lovers will understand.

Take the day off and get the shop "gang" to watch the oven...just keep the suckers out of there.

Know doubt, the gang do keep an eye on the timer for me,thanks god
Damn i wish you were closer

Me too! 100 a month wouldn't be a stretch. Could you imagine?????????

i could only imagine,i mean wish, 100 a month production would kick ass, get transferred i have 3 of your stores within 20 - 40 mins

The price of popularity.Congrats & sorry at the same time.
Congrats on all the bizz & sorry I'm not part of your problem.
I don't have one or a dozen of your knives yet,but I got my nessie from Cris today.
You taught him well,it's a great little knife & I love it.
Just do 'em one at a time & don't let the backlog get to you.
Everyone understands a custom is going to take awhile.
I expect 3-6 months or even a year for a custom & am pleasantly surprised when a maker does one sooner.
Take a chill pill Bill.:D ;)

see what happens when you're known for making some sweetass blades? hang in there Mr. Akers.

Don't like to hear that your stressin'..................:thumbdn:. Not a good thing, but you know the answer.

Take what time you need. Nobody ever did their best work when they were pushed for time and stressin'. The way you are (thankfully so), you only want to do your best, so rest up, revive yourself the best you can...................take only the orders you can do at your own pace.........:).

I received those dark "eye" scales today, so I will send them off tomorrow to you with all that we discussed earlier. I'll detail everything about the knife that I want.....essentially what we already discussed the other day. But this way, you won't have to try and remember what we talked about (more stress). I'll spell each and every part out for you.

Set my project aside if necessary.........I'd rather you stay sane than not.

Take care Bill.

OK class, let's review . . . . . How many of us have waited 30-45 days on a knife ??? How many of us have waited 60-90 days on a knife ??? How many of us have waited up to 5-6 MONTHS for a custom knife ??? And we are all still buying those knives aren't we ??? ??? ??? And Randall Customs has a what, 3-5 year waiting list ???
BA, the only thing I can equate to knife making is woodworking . . . There have been times I have been trying to finish something around the house that I cut a piece of lumber wrong 3 times in a row just from walking from one end of the deck to the other where the miter box was & transposed the measurement . . . because I was so damn tired . . . .
You keep grinding and profiling and cutting and all the other stuff when you are not a full 100% and it's like the old saying, "An Accident Waiting to Happen" . . . .
We can wait, hell, I have been waiting on a sheath from someone since March, but no big deal. I was not in any hurry, he was buried at the time with orders, then got buried at his "real" job . . . .
Take care of #1, take care of family, take care of the "boppsie twins", and we will take care of the forum . . . . I would hate to have my knives be known as a "collector's item" simply because the craftsman was not around anymore due to a shop accident . . . .
As I always say,
Be safe.

I have to agree take it easy brother, you got my custom to me about 10 times faster than what i was expecting. Slow your roll, and have fun with it. Everyone will be ok waiting so long as they are told they will have to wait.
