Any input on blade designs? Leaf pattern Vs Drop point?

Any performance differences or thoughts?

I like them both so much Im tempted to get one of each, but will need to pick one first! LOL

I bought two of the FRN light UKPK models. One was a leaf shaped blade in maroon and the other was drop point in the light blue. I ended up gifting the maroon one and keeping the drop pointed one in the blue.

The drop point aesthetics took me a while to warm to. But I did end up liking them better. Plus, I like the blue color a bit better as well.

Here are some picks of it with two Delica 4s and a Rescue 79mm.

Here it is in my hand. The ergonomics are really nice.

Oh yeah... that is looking good!!! I figure I have a Tenacious, 2 Delicas and an Endura... all in that traditional Spydie shape.. maybe something different would be fun. IM considering grey. :)

Plus I always wanted a stretch, and this is shaped a little like that. thanks for the pics thats VERY helpful!

That is why I want the UKPK drop point...my Stretch 2 is my favorite knife, just want to smaller version as an option sometimes.
Let us know if you find any good deals you might want to share.

I got the drop point in maroon to have something a bit different from my leaf pattern blades. Once my sprints arrive I will have 4 leafs (delica,2 PM2's, Dragonfly 2) and 2 drop points (UKPK and GB). They all work well. But its fun to have a variety of shapes in the rotation.

Sold my leaf one, kept my dp one. I could swear it is a better slicer than the leaf, but that's just my observations.

I much prefer the drop point. IMO, it looks much better, it takes less pocket space, and cuts just as well.

I wish Spyderco offered more knives with a drop point.

Just received my drop point with G10 handles. This thing is sweet. I carry a BM Griptilian full size at work (it's been my work knife for the past 10 years or so) and the blade shape is very similar. I love the look of the blade and it cuts like a laser. I like the built in half stop as well.

Eventually, I think I may also pick up the drop point in either the blue or gray.

Now to make a delica with a drop point blade.....
