After all the research it seems that everyone that has kershaw leek is very pleased with it and the customer service that kershaw has. I was woundering if yall know that if i buy the knife off ebay or some other internet site is the warranty still good with kershaw?(getting new springs and what not) Also do yall know of any good websites to get the knife for a really good price?

Mike Dye at New Graham is excellent. Great prices, great service. You may find an ebay seller for pennies less, but you will lose the peace of mind that comes from dealing with a very reputable seller.

Hopefully you will never need warranty service. I would not buy a knife because it's warranty. A new in the box knife that is not abused would probably be covered by whatever warranty Kershaw has. However if you have been using the knife to chop redwoods, bash concrete blocks, pull nails, and other tasks that knives are not intended for and then send it back to the maker you will probably be charged a repair fee as you should be.

There are many very reputable knife dealers.

The frame-locks are better right....also is the 440A steel blade a pretty good blade or will I even be able to notice the difference than say ATS-34 or something else?

For my normal everyday general usage for a pocket knife almost any stainless steel that's been properly heat treated has been more than adequate - for me - YMMV.

I have EDC a Victorinox SAK for well over 23 years - and even though the "Inox" stainless steel cannot be called a premium or exotic steel it has done faithful duty for me.

Two of the sharpest knives I have are the home (partially) convexed SAK (my EDC) and an Opinel #8 in stainless steel - both of which do NOT have premium or exotic stainless steels -and when I say sharp I do not mean just hair shaving or cutting sheets of paper - but cuttung through things like food and cardboard (:D)

IMHO far too much emphasis is placed on the steel used, and not enough to knife blade geometry and suitability of usage.....
here's a stupid absurd example to illustrate the point - take S30V the current "darling" steel -
will a 3" x 1" x 1" block of S30V out cut a SAK blade?

However if I were cutting carpet or cardboard all day - then ATS-34, S30V - I'm sure would make a difference -
but then I'd probably use a box-cutter type utility knife
which would be far superior for that kind of usage.
