You guys may remember me as the guy who broke his CAK. Well, I got a replacement CAK and tried it out. When I got it inside to look it over I noticed it had a cracked blade. The crack went across the top of the spine and down one side about 3/4". It was definitely a crack in the steel. So, I sent that one back. As it happened, Yangdu had just went on vacation so I had to wait until she got back. When Yangdu got back she said that she wanted to send me a
Tin Chirra to replace the CAK. I said that would be fine.
Well, about one month since I ordered my first one I got the Tin Chirra.

Wooo Hooo.
Nice knife.
15" Tin Chirra not sure of the weight.
At first the handle did not feel right, the ring was right under my finger instead of between. And the blade was not extremely sharp.
However even with the handle the way it was and the blade not being too sharp it still outperformed the two CAKs I had tried.

I took it in the shop and sanded down the ring a bit and sanded the wood handle. Now it fits perfectly.

I also did the sandpaper on the mousepad trick. At first I didn't think it was going to work at all. But when that edge came together, Oh My.
It is now UNBELIEVABLY sharp.

This thing chops like an axe, I cut through a six inch dead fir log in no time.
Cuts through 1 1/2" green limbs in one swipe.

I can't believe how well this thing cuts. It is SCARY.

Perfectly balanced, it feels like it's part of my hand. It probably weighs about 25 ounces and feels like nothing at all.

This thing WANTS to be a weapon but is satisfied to chop wood too.

I couldn't be happier.

Oh, and the wood is just gorgeous. When I get it refinished it is going to be beautiful.

Thanks Yangdu

Ohhhhh.... now I need a Tin Chirra!

Oh wait... I bought one of those already...
