I can't justify spending over $200 on a slab of VG10. Don't get me wrong, I love VG10 for most everything but for the size and the micarta it seems like a knife I'd love for $110, and regret for $229. Anyone else feel this way....Its like a VG10 Mule with micarta for $229

I feel the same. I have yet to pull the trigger on a fixed blade made by Spyderco. Although the Enuff and Street Beat seem like they are priced right and may be something I am interested in. Also Mule Team knives are very similar. Plus you have a range of options for steel handles and sheath.

I kind of feel you. I paid that much for a Southfork but got s90v out of the deal. I'm interested to see how Hap-40 does in the new delica/endura. It's supposed to be kind of m4-ish. If this is a good performer it would make for an interesting sprint in a knife like the temperance!

I would love a Southfork but I've never spent over $200 on a knife, I would have to pop that cherry lol

Yeah I sorta agree.

VG-10 is an amazing steel but for the money I'd like something a bit more advanced.

Me too. I love the looks of the Temperance, but have never been able to handle on yet. They are pricey. That's why I've not jumped in yet.

The Temperance II doesn't really appeal to me, but I'd cheerfully pay $200+ for a full tang Moran Drop Point in VG-10 with a Micarta handle like the Temperance II's and a leather sheath like the older Morans.

I'd really like a Temperance 2 in something like 52100. I wish I'd been into knives before the Temp 1 was discontinued; it seems like it'd be really cool in H-1 with a hollow grind like the H-1 Dragonfly II.

Price is difficult. I didn't ever really look at the Temperance models until recently, but the T2 looks like it has an excellent handle, rounded and contoured, flush with the tang etc... I think maybe the handles and perhaps lower volume contribute to it being priced where it is. I have a South Fork and love it, but could see the T2 being just as expensive to produce, or approximately so, do to the complex shape of the scales vs. the more exotic steel in the SF. Same thing with the Bushcraft.

Anytime the handles are contoured the price seems to increase. Go figure! :D
Temperance 2 has been on my wish list for a few years but I seem to keep buying customs in more interesting alloys.
I still want one though. If it was discontinued I'd snap one up but I keep thinking that I can get one later...

$200+ for VG-10 is difficult to justify when there are similarly sized offerings from Survive and Bradford knives in 3V in the same price range, although I'm sure you can still find the Temp 2 for under $200 if you look.

I also noticed that the new Street Beat lightweight is being introduced at the same price as the Street Bowie, despite being a lot smaller and without the rubber inserts, but I guess that is the cost of the new molds.
