At the NY show yesterday this Hancock bowie appeared on consignmenton a dealers table for about 45 mins until it was gone. I got to handle it and WOW!! It really is one of the nicest things i've ever seen. In person its just absolutely incredible and flawless. I considered trading my car it! :) No surprise the thing sold immediately. The photo is one thing.. but MAN this thing was killer in person.

You can have it at home, Jon, its on page 130 in Tim Hancock's
book that will soon land on the Western shores of the USA....

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

This is one of my all time favorites from all the knives Tim did.

Jon, how about a report on the show?

That's a beauty Jon.
Believe it's originally from Josh Smith's show last summer.
His sheaths are outstanding as well.

Yeowza, what an exceptional piece! Wish I had an opportunity to see it live. It would have been a tug-o-war to get it out of my hand.

What dealer, Jon?(why do I have to even ask this question?)

The fact that such an expensive bowie sold so quickly in this bad economy is impressive and could be seen as positive in regard to the custom knife industry. However, I wonder if the piece would have even been for sale so soon after it's original purchase if not for the weak economy.

If there's anything positive about a horrible economy, it does create opportunity for some.

Freaking fantastic! :D

I drew up a sketch of a knife much like this, but with a little more drop to the point and a gentler curve in the edge. I was all stoked about building it some day, but the catch is that even IF I pulled it off.... People would just see a Hancock knock-off.

Tim pretty much owns this type of handle now...and he definitely EARNED it!!! :)

Just a fantastic knife...
