I'm in need of opinion on a knife. o.o

The RRF has gotten a few good reviews - at the price point, that is pretty good as not many out there.

I'd skip the hand-rub, though, especially if you are actually going to use it.

Before you buy it, also check out the DDR Trigger, which is very similar. There are currently some at truenorthknives.com, and of course darrelralph.com.

There is some connection between Darrel and Wilson, although I'm not sure whether Darrel had input into the design of the RRF, but I'd be surprised if not. It's a little more money, but the good thing about it is that you can get it to your taste if you order from Darrel. Note that all the ones I've seen from purveyors so far appear to be tip-down only, so make sure you're getting what you want. I strongly prefer tip-up.

The nice thing about the Trigger is that if you are not a fan of assisteds (like me) you can get it in manual opening with his super-smooth pivot bearing system. And I'm sure that fit/finish would be a little better on the DDR custom. If you plan to keep it, it's worth it, at least to my mind.

I definitely see M. Ralph's work in this.

400$ I don't know. I would rather get a DDR custom for 200$ more or a MaxxQ for 200$ less (even if it's not a framelock).
