Went to my local knife pusher to see if they had gotten any of the new SOGs in yet. Nothing new, but they did have a Seal 2000. I asked to take a look, and noticed it was stamped Seiki-Japan. Since most of the blades that came out of Seiki were of the SK-5 variety, I jumped on the Seal. Don't know how old it is, ie., when manufactured, but I did not care a wit. The Seal came home with me tonight. Comes with the kydex sheath which I am not really enamored with. Anyone know if the new sheaths are available yet for the Seal 2000? Definitely want to get me one.

SEAL 2000 .... pretty cool, huh ??? It was the 2nd SOG in my collection.... literally. I bought it direct from SOG as a Factory 2nd. I beat it up a little bit, then a friend of a Utah friend desperately needed a SEAL 2000 so he now has it.
got lucky last year and scored another one for the collection. And a diver pal liked mine so much he went out and bought 2 of 'em.

uh oh....... I don't think the SEAL 2000 was ever made with carbon steel.....

as for sheath availabilities, new and/or old, I'd recommend a direct e-mail up to the SOG folks to see what they have on the shelves in the front and in the way way dusty corner back of the facility.

Cheers,

Carl

p.s. and when you're ready, you're welcome to store the original sheath at my house......

Hi - you might want to try a Blackhawk sheath or one of the many others made for the KABAR. You will have to open up the kydex insert a bit, but that is a pretty straight forward job. I bought the black Blackhawk sheath for my S2K several years ago. This is still my favorite knife in my collection.
