Hi All:

I emailed Benchmade over a week ago asking if they would start making a more economical bali like they made in the past and they never even answered back.

I was very polite I just cant see paying that much for a toy.

I say its a toy because where I live they are illegal and I cant carry one around so real use is going to be pretty rare.
But I still like to have quality.

I like throwing knives, they're quiet.

Despite appearances, BM is still a fairly small company. They don't have big staff of people who answer e-mail all day as many larger companies do these days. E-mail sent to BM in general is answered by only a few people and those people have other responsibilities too.

It's the cold and flu season here in Oregon. A lot of folks I know have been struck. Maybe BM is a bit short-handed.

The SHOT show just wrapped up. Maybe they're still digging out of the pile of e-mail that arrived while they were off at the show.

Give 'em a break.

i recently asked them a question and it did take about a week or more to get a response but when they did answer they were straightforward, nice, and very helpful.

Benchmade is a good company, and their customer service is pretty good. I'm surprised that it is taking that long to get a reply. I imagine it has something to do with a backlog from SHOT also. The biggest thing I can stress is stay polite. It just seems to work better on the whole, and definately works better with Benchmade.

Also, if they are going to make a more economical balisong, it looks like it will be far down the road. They are still playing catch up with the 42, and it appears that more 40 series will be next, followed hopefully by some new 30 series offerings.

I have emailed BM a number of times regarding different things, and they have taken varied amounts of time to write back but it always happens and they're always very helpful when they do. i wouldnt worry about it, give em some time and they'll help you out.

I don't know how they are at answering emails, but I called them about 6 times in one day trying to locate a BM 690. I can honestly say that I was more impressed with them than most companies for putting up with me.

Most of the time I spoke to the same person and not only did he help me in the task at hand, but we had a very friendly chat. It surprised me to no end. I can understand that answering all the emails can be hard, I recently sent several emails to another company and it took over a two months to get what I needed. If they had made their phone number available like BM does then maybe the problem would have been resolved quicker.

Here is BM's number 1.800.800.7427

BM is very helpful. No doubt at all.

I e-mailed them few times and got good response, even though in one case it was about a PC (not a BM)..

Sometimes Roberta herself would respond.

Roberta was very helpful when I purchased BM custom balisong. She gave me emails to tell me the progress of the knife and the presentation box almost every weeek. The whole process took half a year, but I could pleasantly wait with her help.

Ordered an AFCK from them right before the shot show. Bad timing. But they're very nice overall. Its just the staff limitations and events thats going on, thats all.

I haven't emailed them with any q&a since Feb. but they have always been fairly prompt to respond to me. Thanks Roberta!

Best regards,
