"I'm driving the bus for the Tupelo Mississippi Flash..."
I had too much fun today and after that scrapped out damascus integral I needed it.
I will have this one out the door in the a.m.
(Got tired and quit) Just wanted to show it off.
I've had lots of little problems with fitting the double bolster models, but I think I'm zeroing in on it. Lesson one, don't put the holes in all the pieces first..little problems creep in and the best laid plans of mice and men, well you know the res.
Lesson two, leave .015-.020 of material on all the outside profiles (front and rear bolsters and scales) I only machine to finish the curves and I leave the tapped holes out for the scales and rear bolsters. Then transfer after fitting up the front bolsters and front curve of the scales....It worked lots better. I was putting all the holes in to the numbers on all the components then just screwing them together, in theory anyway...
This takes a little longer, but the results are better I think......ld
