I'm liking my new Benchmade Adamas

I swore to myself that I would never buy another Benchmade. I have previously owned a Bone Collector and a Griptilian H20, but sold them within days of owning. They are good looking knives, but they didn't feel hefty enough. For this same reason, I got rid of my Spyderco Delica. Felt weak in my hand, like I would snap them when cutting open a box.

I have a sizable Zero Tolerance collection. I EDC ZT303, ZT121, ZT500,ZT561, ZT200, Spyderco Manix XL, and/or Spyderco Military. The lightest EDC knife I own would probably be the Military or the ZT561. I love the heft and the confidence that comes from it.

I had a bit of store credit at an online website and everything else I wanted was out of stock or special order so I figured I would give Benchmade another try. It comes to my surprise that the Benchmade Adamas 275 black blade, tan handle, combo edge is built like A TANK. Very heavy in the hand, strong confident grip. I have no doubt in the strength in this folder.

I have just been getting spydercoes (most recently my first CRK) but once i raise the funds, i think the Adamas might be my next choice. My only worries are that the d2 will rust after the coating fades. Congrats on the new knife and may she treat you well!

D2 is far more stain resistant than you think. My edc has D2 and even with sweaty mitts and a damp climate, I've not had any problems.

great knife! the only problem i have had with it is that the pocket clip snapped off quite easily. one phone call to benchmade and I had a new one to my door in 72 hours. Their customer service is excellent. Is your Adamas' pivot smooth as silk? I could flip open that knife all day and not get tired of it.

It's the only Benchmade I currently own as well and I think it succeeds as a "hard use" knife. I'm more partial to slicers like the Delica that you think is fragile. To me, hard use knives are more fantasy than reality. It's hard to imagine needing the beefiness of the Adamas. If one is cutting a box, despite perceptions, a thinner blade like the Delica is going to cut more efficiently.

I've actually got 2 of them - the auto and manual. They have a great feel, great opening/closing action and just feel like they'd survive nuclear winter...... As some have mentioned, they are surely overkill for what I need on a daily basis, but I'm ok with that!
