I'm looking for a functional boot knife

I've bought a few knives, hoping that they would fill this niche, but so far I've been unsuccessful. The knives I've tried has either been too large, a sheath without a clip, too wide etc.

What I'm looking for is a knife that I can have in a boot, that acts as a back up knife for both EDC tasks and other eventualities I might come across here in the arctic north. Thanks in advance, gentlemen.

And here is a pick of one knife that did not make the cut, since it was both too wide, and had a crappy sheath.

I think that any small, lightweight fixed-blade could be carried in/on a boot, it just depends on the design of the sheath and the way you attach it. As far as sheaths, I have to imagine that there are people in Norway who can make you a custom sheath for any knife you like.

I never base my choice of fixed-blades on the sheaths they come with, because I make my own leather sheaths to suit my own personal requirements.

Good luck in your search.

Fallkniven garm fighter would work not sure bout sheath though

The first thing in boot knives is to have a good sheath or two that fits the boot(s) as you want. Too many knives come with crappy sheaths. If the knife has a clip that can work too.

Once you have a good sheath there are a lot of good knives out there. If you get lucky and find one with a good boot sheath so much the better. I've found the 3.5 - 3.75 blade lengths to work the best for boot. Maybe 4.

If I were buying a first one I'd look at that Becker D'Eskabar for something basic. Not sure about its sheath. But that would only be a starter.....

If you think it through, "functional boot knife" is kind of an oxymoron, unless you wear cowboy boots with your pants tucked in :). However, the sting, gerber guardian, sog pentagon snd cold steel push daggers have stood the test of time.
