Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent bike specific multi-tool
for carrying while riding? I was thinking about a Topeak Alien II or maybe a Topeak Alien Dx.

u talking cycling or motorcycling? and if its cycling just get a little under the seat bag and put in an allen wrench set and a crescent wrench and a few band aid's. if its a motorcycle then i carry a wave and a c- wrench with a multiple head screw driver...also it helps if u have the under the seat tool set that comes with most bikes...mine doesn't...but that doesn't mean u cant make a new one...

I thought he was talking peddle power. Today it got up to 50 degrees, and I got off work in time to get home and put about 50 miles on my Buell. I've got a small kit I made for it. I've wrenched on it enough that I know exactly what everything takes, and that's all I haul. Last year my local tractor supply had a stubby rachet that had a 3/8" drive stud on one side of the head and 1/4" drive stud on the other. I love it. Fortunately for me all HD product's fasteners loosen up, so I don't need a long torque arm! ;-)

For motorcycling, I usually have a Victorinox Spirit handy for minor things that don't rate digging out the tool roll. If I rode bicycles, I'd probably just rely on a simple tool kit in a bag, since it's easier to get to.

I have the topeak alien and had bought my wife a spin doctor, when we use to ride to work. Bought them at either Performance or REI as they were across the street from each other in Alexandria.

We carry one of the Topeak Aliens. Really nice tool. I would definately pick one up if I wasn't a tech-junky... But since I am, I usually just carry a full size allen set as well as some other tools in my pack.
