Im new and need help

[Swordsman]

As you can probably guess, im new here and i was wondering if there are any other swordsman on these boards, and if so, what do you use to train with?

types of swords and styles
practice equipment (pads, and other devices used to make or assist drills)
ect.

I train in Kali and Arnis and use alot of short swords in these arts. I have done some saber in the past and injoyed it. as far as training goes, a 6X6 inch post set two feet in the ground and about five and half feet high for strikes and cutting practice. hanging a rug or piece of carpet has also worked well for me, if the cuts are not good alot of times it just pushes the carpet back with little effect. old tires work well for cutting/striking work. for sparring hockey gloves and my old hockey helmot from high school. tried Kendo when I was around 15 or so wasn't my thing.
