Hi. I'm new. I'm a young blacksmith from Smithfields in London - apprenticeship served. My family has been involved in metalwork for a few generations. I make all sorts of things - mainly for the meat trade - but I've recently started making knifes, cleavers and choppers as show pieces. Not sure anything I've made yet is good enough to show here but when I've got something worth making a noise about I'll show you what I've created. In the meantime I'm going to lurk and watch what the experts are doing. Some really beautiful works of art here. Beautiful forum.

Welcome Thor. I think London would be a great place for a chef's knife smith could really make a name for himself. Looking forward to the pics. Kevin
 
Please do show your work. Just the fact that it's done by a knifemaker in London makes it special.
 
I'll get some pictures uploaded once I work out how to do it. Thank you for such a nice welcome.
 
thor2 welcome to the forum.you are certainly in the right area to start your knife making. scan the forums especially the custom guys & you should get a good sampling of whats going on.
 
I'm based in London. I'd love to come and see your workshop. My family are looking for a London maker to make some hunting knives for our gun shop. Is this something you could do?

Don't apologize for not being and expert. Very few of us here are; just knife knuts who like to swap lies online. And, as a blacksmith, you are orders of magnitude more knowledgeable than 99% of us! Please, share your pictures, and your comments with us. You are very welcome here.
