I had a last minute problem (my fault) so I can't go to Altanta for the Blade Show this year but my 112's are going!! My Brother David took a 500 mile detour coming from Texas and brought a couple of display cases and graciously picked up my 112's to display for me. I've been building my collection back up since 2015 and was really looking forward to it but even if I can't be there I'm glad 52 of my very best rare, odd 1 of 1 112's will be to support Buck and the BCCI. Life will throw you a curve once in a while like this but thanks to David I didn't strike out completely..I'll share a few pics with the rest of y'all that can't get to Altanta this year for the big show. 20190606_110615.jpg 20190606_110426.jpg

some great ones there. wish I could be in Atlanta to see yours and what 110s Dave brought.

The longer I collect 112's the more 112 fans I run into. Funny thing is I never wanted to get any 'normal' by year or tang stamp..It was always the rarest and odd one I tried to find. I was drawn to engineering samples, one offs, prototypes and especially advertising and safety award knives.. But odd trumps all. Here's a few more that made the cut..20190606_114716.jpg 20190606_113827.jpg

Beautiful knives, and I'm sorry to hear you can't end up going to something you were so looking forward to .

It sounds like a real anxiety attack waiting to happen, with all those rare knives of yours being so far away from you.

Very cool 112's you have there. Too bad you have to miss out on all the fun at the Blade Show. It's nice that Dave took them there to show off for you.

I was planning on going to the Blade Show but couldn't fine "Altanta" on my GPS.

bucksway, a handsome collection. In your last photo, who softened the grind on your 2 dot to help it look like a flat grind, with carbon fiber
handles? DM

Yep, to go to Atlanta, that's a 4 day & 4 night trip One Way for me. Then another 3 days and nights to do the show. Then the trip back home.
About the same for me to go to Idaho. That's a lot of travel expense. Only those that make the trip get to vote on officers...? I hope someone will post us some pictures. DM

Here's a rare set of 112's for your topic. This is the first introduction version 112 with micarta handles, 1972. Then on the first week of the 112's introduction, Buck set up at a large hardware store in San Diego with a router / cutter and would cut your name in the micarta handle
if you purchased one. Yep, 2 line 112's. (middle knife) and then the bottom knife is a 1973 model with shedua wood handles. DM

David the carbon fiber 112 I have no history for. It was a Ebay purchase and the seller knew no history. I thought it might have been a early JAG but he said no. At one point I thought it was possible it might be a engineering sample or a early attempt of a Bucklite but I was told Buck would have never used that type of rivets. The 112 with the engraved micarta is one I always look for since you posted a pic many years ago. It intrigues me because Chuck himself might have had his hands on it. Same with any very early drop point blade since Chuck worked with Leroy modifying a few 500 blades and some might have survived. I still have hope one day I will see or find a true prototype 112 from 71 or 72 lol! I bid on a 112 with Shedua Chuck signed but lost at the last minute. I feel some of the rarest, most historic, 112's are locked up in long time collections (or by Skyler lol) but because I have been focused on odd ones since 2007 I have learned when one comes up make my best effort because it might never happen again...

Jazzz that is a one of and a big mystery to me. I picked it up on Ebay for under $40.00 shipped and except for the rivets it could be a factory knife. It's a 2dot blade from 1982 or so right around the time Bucklites first came out and I thought it could possibly be a early attempt at that. But in the end I now believe it was homemade but done very well.
