Im not sure if it is legal to own one this knife in canada

If that style is, do yourself a favor and buy a good one instead of that, like at least maybe a CS Steel Tiger or Double Agent or something.

you can own it, plausible carry reason would be tough, really hard to justify it as anything other than as a weapon, but whatever. Carry in you particular city and or province is another question yet again.

It fits the criteria for a fixed blade and does not fall into the categories of prohibited knives that cannot be imported into the country. I don't think you would get any problems carrying it in the bush, but in an urban center that maybe another thing. If you do carry, keep it out of sight don't draw attention and you should be okay.

this is legal to own and carry but to carry you must be able to justify to the police to HIS satisfaction that it is a tool and not a weapon. If you say for self defence they'll take it if you say for opening hay bails(I have a friend that uses a similar knife for just that) then your fine if he believes you

The advice being given isn't very technical but is entirely correct. There is no law per se against owning or even carrying such a knife but it rates very high on the scale of suggesting to an LEO that you are carrying a "weapon" that is "concealed". I wish there were more objective and reasonable guidelines, but there really aren't.
