......the best! Finer folk I have yet to meet.

It's nice to have friends.:)
To pick you up and help you along.

My non-existence on the forum was first due to my monitor dying, with finances dictating I wait for a hand me down.

Then I fell off my very big horse.
A few days later I fell off my very big horse-going very fast.
I am not a "very good" rider!
Three hospital visits later- battered but nothing broken, I count myself lucky.

Now left hand and knee have joined previously injured right elbow in pseudo-recovery. Uhhh...anyone seeing what I'm seeing?
Possible need for a teeth-held khuk??
Oh,I did sustain a jolt to the head as I hit the ground, too.... but I'm better now....honest!

Then My brother-in law met an untimely death which the police are investigating as a homocide(he was beaten, found dead). There was an article in the Ottawa Sun, July 15.
Although both his (divorced)parents are living, I ended up taking care of it; police, morgue..all funeral arrangements; to simplify everyone's time "together"-lack of. I'm feeling it as doubly tragic.
That's not all but that's enough for now.

Status:
Homeschooling- mere mention of, has me feeling guilty as charged
Marital- you don't want to know
Forum posting- spotty, unpredictable
Mental health- questionable  (kidding!) (Rusty, I asked ya once before, "Are you gonna share those MEDS?!!" Not sure but now might be a good time!)

I'm ok.
I'm being "helped along" by the concern and well wishes of some of the World's Finest People".
Maybe, I don't get out much. :D;)
Thanks Guys and Gin, did I miss anyone?

I keep you all with me in my thoughts and prayers, regardless of circumstance.
:)

Shirley,

That is definitely a litany of bad luck. Sounds like a WHOLE lot more than you deserve. Can we do anything? 'Just being there' is somehow unsatisfying.

Sorry about the marital problems (that's the worst of your woes, from my point of view. Got some of those, too). Lot of that going around.

Strange to be telling all of that to people you've never seen, isn't it?

In the 60's we used to think about experimenting with drugs. Now the doctor insists that we take them!

Cartoon taped up in our local drugstore: ( since removed by some fuddy-duddy )

"Sorry sir, that drug is no longer available. The side effects were too much fun."

Aard:

"Just being there" not to be underestimated and may be exactly the help I need.
I'm guessing we each have our unique "slippery slope" to climb and I believe just knowing you got people pulling, praying, cheering, counting; in other words "just there" for you, can help get you UP and OVER the top.

Probably is strange-dunno.
Have always felt strangely comfortable and at home here.

Shirley,

That's way more than most can handle. :( Do give a hollar if you want to chat more. We're here for you and will be praying for you.

It's summer time....it's OK to let school take a vacation, too. I think the kids learn as much and maybe more from the life experiences we survive than any text. Give them a good book to read and that's sufficient. By the way, I have a series on world history and american history on video that is very interesting. i would be happy to loan them to you if you think the kids might enjoy them. The way the guy presents the lessons they will never forget the info. Totally fun and great learning. (I even learned something:eek: ;) )

Take care and let us know what we can do to help.

Hang in there. Stay positive. Keeping talking to your friends and "This too shall pass."

We are wishing you the best and will keep your health and happiness in our prayers. Hang tough!

As you can tell, we are all on your side. Your in my thoughts and prayers. I know you will come through just fine. It may just take a bit of time.:)

It would have been nice if you HAD been building a commune with a Khuk and vines.

Be well and safe.

(By the way, Shirley...the average horse's brain weighs ONE pound...in a 1200---pound animal. Don't count on their judgement. Long ago and far away, I took pictures at horse shows.... Experienced, well-trained horses would be perfect, until they got a signal from their home planet, then a candy wrapper 1000 feet away would spook them.)

Glad to hear you are still with us. Had my fill of horses also for a while. Buddy of mine has a big, rawboned trail horse we call 'Beau.' Beau cut his foot....right back one. I am 6'3" & about 245 lbs. My buddy is about the same height & weight. We tied Beau to a ring in the hall of the barn & went to work on the foot. Beau probably won't miss 1400 lbs. far. He thought we wanted to play & battered us all over the place; squashed against the wall, stepped on toes(thank God & greyhound for steel toed boots.) In general, wore Jimbo & me out, but we couldn't get the foot taken care of. During all this circus, Jim's girlfriend shows up & says," go to the house & get a cool one & give me a few minutes." Ten minutes later we return to the barn where we see his 5'4" 110-112 lb. girlfriend sitting on the ground with ole Beaus' foot in her lap, doctoring on him. He looked like he was frozen; didn't move a muscle...both of us just shook our heads. Guess Beau figured she was too little to play with. Kismet is right; the big turkey's are totally unpredictable.

Sharpen up the khukuris & don't worry........Sanity is vastly over-rated.

Shirley;
I'm new but welcome back.

I was throne from a hourse once, I landed on something unimportant...

My head.

Shirley, God Bless. Hope things start looking up for you. Don't worry bout the schooling right now. It's summer and nice out. Let em play. I know my mom couldn't keep me indoors durring the summer. Unless of course, it was just to hot to do stuff out side. BTW I was Home Schooled too.:)

Shriley,
Glad to hear from you! Keep your chin up we're praying for you. Hang in there with the homeschooling and do what's right for your children. There are alot of experts out there but they don't care about YOUR children half as much as you do! and take it easy on those horses!!

Kis, that sounds good to me anytime!

Gin, thanks for kind offer of vids, but I'd end up worrying about them till they were safely back to you.
May try emailing you though.

All homeschooling, horse, marital and mental health(or lack of) comments have me feeling better already. Feeling understood makes for better problem-solving than feeling guilty...etc.

Jim, posting comments like that may get me to half-way believing your moniker of "The Saint"

Red, a belated welcome to the Cantina. I can see you belong here!:D

I'm glad you're ALL THERE!

Thanks,
Shirley
