Turned out to be a beautiful fall day So I packed my ruck and I'm off to do a solo over-nighter in the woods!

Maybe try my hand at the September competition...

Will check back here later from my phone and upload pics tomorrow!

Good luck man. Enjoy it, I wish I had the time and the wifes approval to do that kinda stuff anymore.
 
Tarp is set up but I'm being eaten alive by mosquitoes!! Didn't have any all year!!! :(

Hey buddy none of my business but I have heard you say numurous times that your wife wont let you go do stuff... out to the clubs is one thing but out for the night in the woods with your cool new gear is another. Hey what about sending jr to the g-parents and taking the misses with ya. sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. ;)
 
So I survived!!

All in all it was fun but the damn mosquitoes made it pretty miserable! I did throw a big fungus in my little fire and that helped a bit.

Another thing that I learned, besides to remember bug spray is to get out earlier because I really only had 2 hours of daylight to get everything ready.

I really enjoyed the sound of the woods but got woken up a lot by large critters going on their way through the woods; I expect they were wild boar as they’re all over the place here.

I’m sorry for the lack of quality pics but only had my cell which of course died after a while but, you still get a shot of my ugly mug!

That MRE looks tasty. Shame about the mosquitoes man. You could try a method I used once: Build a huge fire, strip down, cover your entire body with mud and start drinking Jack Daniels. It worked for me. There wasn't a single mosquito in the cell I woke up in.

Damn! Should have thought of that but I didn't have my mud permit with me!! :D
