My problem really began when I discovered Benchmade's Axis lock earlier this month. I have always collected knives, I have some really high end Bucks, mostly for hunting, etc and some Knives of Alaska skinners and capers, many various Victorinox, Leatherman, gerber and buck multitools and have been EDC'ing a Buck Vantage Pro (still love that knife).
2 weekends ago I happened into a knife shop and decided on a whim to pick up a BM Griptillian. I have some nice autos and spring assists, but I was floored by how much I like the Axis lock. Then I saw a really good deal on a BM 950 rift with black handles and a satin blade - now the buck has been replaced as my EDC knife (the rift fits my hand perfect). Then I had to have a Bone Collector, and another rift (this morning - because it had the grey and black handles... now I think I need one with the grey and black handles and the black blade.). I have become obsessed! I have owned other benchmades before, and I like some of them, but I really like the axis lock - I think it is faster than an auto, and easier to close 1 handed.
