had a knee operation yesterday to repair a torn meniscus. So, I'm stuck here on the back porch with my Apple wireless laptop, a cigar, a diet Dr. Pepper, my old dog and a bunch of knives and guns. I am about to start sharpening and cleaning all my knives, then I will start cleaning my guns. Then, it will probably be about time for a nap! What an exciting life I;m living right now! Here is my back yard. Life ain't all bad!

JB, still looking for that pot of gold out there. Havent found it yet. Just a few onions and tomatos.
 
It's a windy, snowy 15 here today. Hey Will... how about joining me on a road trip to Captain Mark's place??? :D

I have the same problem out here. Gophers all over the place. They got spoiled with all the orchards. I've set traps and have got rid of most of them excpet for one pesky critter that keeps eating all the flowers on the east side of the house. That's the main goal for this spring. :D
 
I'm with Will & Messer.... 25 & 18" of snow on the ground. Hope you heal fast Captain and take it easy. Thanks for sharing a photo with a lot of green in it:D

Mike, I guess I need to get a trap. I have yet to try a trap. My dog loves to go out and dig holes trying to find them....which makes it even worse!
 
When I was sick and lay a bed
I had two pillows at my head
and all my toys (knives) behind me lay
to keep me happy all the day
...

I tried everything and found that traps are the only thing that actually works. There for a while I thought I was starring in the movie Caddy Shack. I even used poison that the orchardists use, but only with mixed results. Buy two of them so you can set them in opposite directions inside their tunnel.
 
Thats a great picture Cap'n! Sorry to hear about your knee, I hope your back on your feet soon. Either that or you'll have to buy some more knives and guns to clean! :)
 
It would almost be worth a knee operation if I could sit and enjoy a view like that Captain. Thanks for sharing and I wish you rapid healing.
