Yes for the strip:thumbup:, yes for the wood handles:thumbup: (although I like the Mircata handles you can buy too), and , well I don't know much about edges, so go for it!:thumbup:

Micarta would hold up better if you plan on using it, as for convex...belt sander...HF cheap-o.

Here are some pics of my modified bk2. what I did is took out the strap that the sheath has on the back and used the same support that the sheath comes ( to attach the strap) and fitted a tek lok.

I also polished the blade of the knife and did some paracord wrapping on the handle plus I put a ranger band to improve the grip on the knife.

The edge on the knife I fitted a micro convex edge and the cutting performance of the knife improved a lot, now it has a razor edge.

I hope that this encourages you to do the stripping of the blade.
