It is almost time for my summer motorcycle camping trip. This time I'm going to head West for a few days and part of my route will be Route 6 across PA. I don't really plan these trips around destinations, but I do intend to visit the Case/Zippo headquarters. Has anyone ever been there? Is this worth the visit, or just a big tourist trap? I thought it would be neat to see a huge array of Case knives in person, and maybe even buy one or two (scout, mini copperlock, canoe).

I have been meaning to go since I was about 12...my father and I had planned a trip, but it fell through. I'd say it would be an incredible experience from what I have heard.

I think it would be cool. You might want to give them a call to see if they are having any gatherings or maybe tours while you are in the area.

I took in the Case visitors center last summer on the way back from Niagara Falls, there is amain showroom up front with a Case/Zippo museum in the back, My Son & Daughter enjoyed the stop even if my wife was sitting on the fence on that one. They also have many old stock knives on closeout. We live in east PA and also came across route 6, very scenic!

Plan at least an afternoon,I got there on a Sunday afternoon and only had about 2 hrs before closing.:grumpy:I could spend as much time with the Zippo's as the knives though. It is a great visit, like Bastid says, check out their website and the Zippo collectors website, there are things going on there once in a while.I have a few pictures here to get you warmed up http://flickr.com/photos/beau5278/sets/72157605049958970/

The factory tour was the highlight of my trip there a few years ago. As a member of the Case Collectors Club, I got the royal treatment, and a bag full of goodies, hat, coffee mug etc. but seeing the knives produced was just astounding!
