Decisions,decisions,decisions.3 day backpacking/hunting trip planned for late Oct. thru the 1st part of Nov. here in northern California. It's going to be in the Tehama wildlife area just below Mt.Lassen state park. Finally decided on my Buck/Strider fixed blade 888 for my belt knife. It's the sharpest knife I have after sending it to Bob Dozier to be sharpened. In my back pack I will take a SOG revolver and a leatherman wave.I know I'm over knifed but I want to be prepared:) .With almost 50 fixed blade knifes this was not an easy decision.

Good luck on your hunt. I've wanted to hunt Tahama for a long time. Just never got around to working it all out.

whats a SOG revolver ?

I have not figured out how to post pic's.The SOG seal revolver is a blade that revolves in the handle from saw blade to knife. It's kinda funky looking, but is one of the most pratical knives I own. It's very tough, you can cut alot of wood for a shelter or fire if need be.Check out SOG web page.

Overknifed? No way. You are just right. In your place, I would probably have Rat-7, Fallkniven H1, Sak Trekker, and leatherman Wave. I don't have a revolver, have you used yours much? What do you think of it in use? I have looked at them, but just haven't gotten around to buying one yet;I am curious as to your opinions.

Hello, may I ask what Bob Dozier charged to sharpen a knife other than his own brand?

Thanks,
Darrell..........

Have a good hunt . Is it for deer , antelope?

It's in a Wildlife perserve for Deer. It's a lottery and I was drawn. You really can't road hunt you have to walk, which I think is great.Only problem , it's easy to get lost in this area.Last time I would have been lost if I didn't take a walkie/ talkie. This time I take a GPS.
