Back before Christmas time I enjoyed the banter between some Beckerheads who visited ESEE. I was intrigued with the BK-2. So, I instantly went to that big auction site and bought the above knife. It was a great deal because the guy had opened the box to take promotional photos of the knife. He never used it. It came with the Micarta Handle as well as the stock ones, some fire starter sticks, a pocket sharpener and the stock sheath.

When it arrived, I was stunned by it's size. I instantly put the Micarta handles on and thought it was a great knife. I actually like the edge profile, but I did lay it back a little as you can see in the photos.

I've used it in the kitchen and of course splitting some ash for the fire place. I was also impressed with how the coating has held up. Held up great on the new one even when it was sliding in the jaws of the vise.

So, thank you to everyone for the warm welcome.

Ethan, I look forward to hanging out here with you and your fellow Beckerheads. Thanks again.

Tom

Nice knife. I have two generations back (Camillus knife and micarta, no extended tang), and it's a favorite. Sometime this year, I'm going to pick up the Ka-Bar version with the tang extension.

Oh, and you just got Moose's attention. :D

Yup, I likes me some BK2 knif pron, for sure.

Great knife, I would say the greatest, but everyone is different in their tastes. My biggest love is the way it floats in the hand, more so for the size of the knife. Not too long, not too short, nice belly, good strong tip, and great edge geometry. Stellar edge geometry.

That and a 30yr old history of being a badass around the block, BK2, you's ma only frein'.

Glad to see you over here TAG, and if you want, I'll trade you some Beckers for those reprocessed tin cans masquerading as knives you got from "those other guys". Just offerin'.:D:D

Seriously, I can only hope for more ESEE/Becker Collabs, to me, those would be the best knives ever made. Did someone say, ESKabar?? I swear I just heard someone say that.:D

Glad you're here, brother, just don't make a habit of beating knives into submission, m'kay??

Yup, she's a beast of a knife. You gotta name her though.

Mine is Winona. I believe someone else named theirs Sheila.

Indeed. The Moose man like Bk-2's sort of the way Cobalt likes Battle Mistresses or BBT likes Camp Bloods.

Loves me some BK2. Never met one I didn't like, or didn't want to own. I will have to say, I still get short of breath when I open the box up on a new one. Kinda silly but very true.

The BK2 is all right. It can't cut through an ESEE 5 for $hit though.

Would you bet on it? :p

All kidding aside, I'd get one, but I much prefer the 5 that I already own. I will likely get one, but for my brother, as he isn't much of a knife nut, but I want to change that ;)

Hey wait a minute I thought you were all esee....J/K

Good to have you over here, I love me some BK2

Hey Tom.......

As I am fond of saying when Jeff is not around----If I did not make knives I would own a lot more of Jeff's than I do now........First class stuff, made by a 3 man band of good guys.....

Glad you are gonna come over and play often.....Again-WELCOME !.....

How can you prefer the 5 over the BK2 if you don't have a BK2?

I'm not saying this about you personally, The Game, but I think a person needs to use a knife in the field ( not just hold it in your house) to see if a knife will work for them.

I've seen too many times on forums that people just say they don't like this or don't like that and have never even owned or used the item. I think some people just like to repeat what they have seen or hear on the forums. I don't think people should recommend a knife either, if they have never owned or used that knife.

Anyway...sorry for the side bar. My point is, that people should try the BK2. I think they will be surprised. But if you don't like it...fine. Then they can say they tried it and provide examples of why they didn't like it.

When I ordered the sacrificial BK-2, I also ordered 2 ESKabars. Very cool knife. It's like an IZULA, only different. Great blade shape and overall size. I’ll add it to the EDC rotation.

I think I’ll cool it on the beatings. My two proud warriors are sitting cozy next to each other in the case. I think I sense romance in the air.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
