After 27 years Im selling our 1967 Mustang fastback. See what being a knife addict will do? I want to pay off the hot tub and add on to my shop. Feel free to bid it up unless you are a starving maker like me. http://www.motors.ebay.com/ item#150066621191

hmmm..for some reason I cant cut/paste the ebay link totally. maybe its too long?

She's a beaut', Bruce. Just remember the good times you've had!
I copied and pasted the item number in the Ebay Search box and she came right up.
I'm continually flipping the coin about selling a couple vintage guns to buy a bigger mill! I KNOW the feeling!

Sold some Randalls and Eks I've had for years to partially fund my new shop. I feel your pain. Not the same as a great car I know, but it still stung to see them go. That's the price we gotta pay I guess.

Bruce: That sucks:jerkit: :jerkit: But one must set his priorities.
If I ever sold my Indian I would have to get all new tatoos.:D

Ive been on the puter all morning answering quesions about this car. I think it will go on all 7 days! Cant get knives made this way but at least the bids are stacking up.

IG do you have any places left for tats except that small spot under your scrodum? At least thats what I heard. :)

A fine automobile. I must say, I was tempted to bid on her.

I was weened on muscle cars from the 50's on and really love the feel of a big V-8 running thru a big four speed.

I watch the Barret Jackson Auction when I get the itch.

I think there is something comparable in a big air hammer or Hydraulic press.

The power is just stationary instead of mobile.

For all of us that enjoyed the muscle car era when it could still be afforded, those were heady days, never to come again.:o

Fred

Its only 225 horse power but with the 4 barrels open and the dual exhaust screaming it still gives me a thrill. Most new cars have that much power but they dont throb and go sideways like these old muscle cars. I am going to miss her but she deserves a garage to live in.

Fred, go ahead and bid. The reserve is $16,000 anything over that and she may live in your driveway.

Bruce, I had a 2894bl, 4spd, 68 fastback in 1978/79 and 500 HP 351 68 fastback a little later. I was too young and in over my head and couldn't really afford it. I sold the first one for $1500 and the second for $2000, they're selling for a little more now :o I get the itch every now and then but I'd rather buy knife making stuff. Good luck on the sale.

I turned down an offer for $17,000 from one of the callers todayHe wanted me to stop the auction. I want to go the full 7 days to see what it will bring. I have a standing offer here in town if it wont reach the reserve price.

I'm sorry to hear that. :( I've got a 1968 fastback that I've been debating about getting back to doing a little work on.

You sure you want to do this? I haven't driven mine in probably 7 years and and I miss it dearly.

Michael I just cant stand to see it deteriorate anymore. We dont have room or money to build a garage to store it in and they rust out in the weather. I'll live to regret it but it needs to be restored again and I'm not in a position to do it now. Knifemaking has taken up all my time and it doesnt pay enough to hire it out. You better keep yours at least, the value is better than ever on them and the parts are still available. Maybe you should buy parts while they are still cheap and store everything.

whadda car!!!

sad for your loss....I hope I never have to sell my 71 nova...

of course...it's not in as good of condition as yours...! :D :p

Sweet looking car Bruce. I'm just down the road from you - mighty tempting!! BUT, I just picked up a '78 Z28 4spd with 30k, all original. Not the same as a 60's classic though! So, now I'm broke. Been looking for some nice older muscle for awhile and finally found this one in Lewiston.

Hi Bruce,

It's a near-perfect base for a full resto again. Excellent car. I am dead certain you will go beyond that 14k starting bid. Remember on this much money, folks are going to try to save what they can. The last ten seconds may be the real testament to the price of the car.

I watched the Barrett-Smith auction last night on the Automotive Channel. Musclecars are the RAGE! Baby boomers HAVE the cash.

Coop

PS, let it go and don't look back. You enjoyed it and now you will give someone else a dream and a purpose!

Nice car, Bruce! I beat a lot of those with my 68 Camaro back in the day! :D

I agree with what Jim says. Life changes and there comes a time to move on. It broke my heart to watch my Harley go down the road on a trailer, but in truth I knew it would now get more attention than I would ever provide it again. Occasionally you'll get wistful and wonder whether you did "the right thing", but deep inside you'll know it was time.

I hope it goes way over you're reserve. Enjoy the improvements it brings and count it's long stay with you as the joy it was.

Thanks guys. Thats good advice and I do feel better about letting her go.

Richard, I know she would give us a ride but with beer on our breath she would never let us drive it!

Well, the auction is all over now. She brought in $19,600
not bad for a car that cost $3,200 brand new in 1967. I should have bought that 1966 Shelby my buddy tried to sell me for $900 back then.

I adding on to my shop! Ya Hooo
