I am truly sorry, Thomas. Sorry for all the stuff you have to deal with. I just wanted to start this thread to show some appreciation toward you, KAI, and what you guys do for us. Especially after seeing a thread a few minutes ago, I just felt like it was needed. Sure, you get paid for what you do, but it's unbelievable the idiots and bullsh*t you have to deal with. You give us all this up to date information, you help all of us here on the forums, and you do a lot for this community in general and us true Kershaw/ZT lovers.

I saw a thread a few minutes ago where a guy had a problem with a Kershaw knife he purchased. Thomas replied in the thread. He didn't say anything at all insulting, accusing, or out of line. Nor was it even directed toward the OP. The OP replied very defensively, almost as if Thomas had accused him of something and then resorted to saying that he would never buy another Kershaw due to the knife and Thomas' "ignorance". I don't want to start some kind of flame war or even any attention toward the thread, but I did want to use it as an example of the BS Thomas has to deal with. Yet he comes on here and dedicates a lot of time and patience to helping us out.

Thomas. I just wanted to say...Keep on keepin' on. Please don't change who you are or what you do because of as*holes like that. I don't want all these people like that to turn you sour toward what you do for us. I love the fact I can get up to date information and even some info before it's officially "out", and I would hate to lose that privilege. I realize you run into countless people like the one mentioned above, and I would hate for you to feel unappreciated for what you do for us.

So, from me to you(KAI and Thomas), I am sorry. I am sorry about those dumb...Well, we won't go there, but I very much appreciate everything you guys do and I am sure a lot of people will follow through and agree with me on this one, along with showing their appreciation aswell. I know it's not much, but maybe it will make you guys feel a little better about doing what you do.

With all that being said...Thanks.

not trying to stir the pot but what thread are you referring to? Could you send me a pm with this info?

Id also like to say that I don't see how someone could get mad at Thomas, he is always helping people out and if there's an issue it is fixed almost immediately and the customer is left happy.

I have had numerous occasions with Kershaw's phenomenal warranty and that is why I can truly say it is the best!

Like the op said "Keep on keepin' on" Thomas

Gotta like the way Thomas presents the info, and helps everyone out. Makes Kershaw different from other knife makers, and just rocks!

Nice pic!

Gotta say for myself, Thomas" input on this forum is a big reason I began buying Kereshaw/ZT products. It's awesome having someone on here with extra insight and info on these great knives, and he always presents himself as a true professional.

Not for nothing but give me a damn break....I'm sure he's a big boy and can handle himself. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks this...it's like you're sucking up or something. This sub forum is the only place that I see "people" saying sorry and all kinds of a$# kissing...it's sounds so damn phony.

And....sorry if you catch some feelings about what I said.

If you wanna see some ass kissing, hit up the CRK board. And on a related note, both KAI and Spyderco's presences on Bladeforums have led me to purchase their products in situations where I otherwide would not have, and I'm glad I did. It's nice to see companies that value daily interaction with the users of their products.

Forums deal with the "human element". It is an easy place to be the telephone tough guy because the result, besides the outflow of frustration, etc., is safe. Few people that explode on forums would do it face to face because the other person can respond immediately...that is not always good because sometimes, maybe too often, the person going off is right but is over the top in expressing his/her discontent.
It is also difficult being the "on the spot" person for the product, etc. While the complaint may be baseless you can't really go off on the complainer. It looks bad though may feel great.

Knives, like all products manufactured, can be poorly made...Once again it is the "human element" whether American Made or otherwise. It happens...A good company replaces the item or the cost, apologizes for the situation then moves on. That does not necessarily satisfy the complainer but that is fair.

When someone is complaining/venting right or wrong there is no good way to deal with it other than just listen, or read, thank the person for his/her thoughts, try to correct the situation then move on.

Actually I think this thread is warranted. Just as was my group hug for Thomas thread. The reason being Is I dont know any other company that does for its customers what Kershaw does. And Thomas is a big part of that. He has bent over backwards for many people and the funny thing is that when he does go out of his way he would brush it off as him just doing his job. Even though most would strive to be half the person he shows us he is. This isnt a matter of a$$ kissing. Its a matter of showing some friggin appreciation for a person who does an exceptional job. Maybe the reason why you only see this kind of thread on the kershaw forum is an indicator of something? Like the fact that Kershaw does more for its customers than the other companies and thats why you will see public thanks? Just a thought. If you didnt know Thomas has expressed in not so many words his discontent with how some of the forum members have stopped by only to take a crap and disappear. And I think its only appropriate that every once in a while you show some frickin appreciation. I think everyone secretly enjoys a pat on the back once in a while. Even you.

I agree with CML, I don't think Thomas is going to change or give up or leave because someone gives him some crap. Seems a little unnecessary. Anyway thats all I gotta say on that!

For the most part I agree with CML's post: that Thomas could hold his own. Evidenced by the levelheaded and eloquently stated rebuttle/posts of his. Particularly when you consider the contents of the post/verbiage of the OP. After reading it + his response to Thomas, it was like one of those wtf/headbanging moments lol. Or I guess related-able to trying to teach someone who doesn't understand common sense/doesn't want to admit their wrongs + fight it to the death amid all evidence; that feeling. Was gonna go off on that, but its off topic here. Anyway, as much I agree with CML, I think it's nice to have these thank you/support for KAI/ZT/Thomas. Shows the community all the great that's been done, and their pursuit for having zero tolerance when it comes to products, but full tolerance when it comes to the consumers.

I hear ya....on both spyderco and zt/kershaw. Not saying either are bad companies....I love both.

I still feel the same way though.

I've come to suspect that some of the complaint threads are simply phishing. But, I could be wrong.

"my group hug for Thomas thread" Sounds soft as hell...real weak! Is this a knife forum or a AA meeting??? I and am not against saying "he's a good guy or what a great company"

CML, it is a community and some of us express ourselves in ways that others would see as weak, but when you truly appreciate someone, it's OK to say so in a community or anyplace for that matter. It is always better to encourage one another , rather than tearing each other down. We all have enough crap in our lives to tear us down already. I consider a lot of the members of this sub forum to be my friends and the reason you see a lot of what you call Kissing up here, is because there are a lot of great people here that are actually nice to each other. So please try to see it more as people being nice rather than Kissing up. If people want hardcore abusive stuff they can go to the cove and get their fill. We are family here and we don't need to criticize each other for doing what we should be doing, being nice, it's OK.
