but I'm getting a little better ;) Thanks to all the HOG's that are good at taking pics, I've been watching and trying to learn. I've still got a long ways to go but this is leaps ahead of the one's I was taking a year ago.

BTW, I took about 5 or 6 pics and this is the only one that is even close to good ;)

Pic looks pretty good to me. You're no Lunde, but who is? (Aside from Lunde of course.)

Looks good. I'm learning a lot about taking nice photos since I have been around this forum. The biggest thing I have learned is to use an external soft light source. Are you using a light box or just a lamp with a sheet lik me?

Looks Good! Alrighty, I need to go and setup a lightbox or something for future pics :D

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments.* I am going to keep working on this thing and hopefully at some point my pics will actually look like the knives I'm shooting (shooting that's one of those words photographers use ;) )

I was at Walmart today and they had a small lightbox on sale, it included two lights, a small tripod and a lightbox for $38. I decided that it couldn't make my pics worse so I decided to give it a try. Seems to have helped a little.

:D:D

I think it was Skunk that said

"The most fun thing about my photos is trying to figure out what the knife is.";)

Practice, practice, practice... ;)

Photography is mainly about lighting. In the end, capturing light in the right way gves the desired result. The light should not be too harsh, otherwise contrast is too high. Multiple diffused light sources provide the best results. The combination of "multiple" and "diffused" in terms of light sources seems to minimize shadows, which tend to distract.

The GFD's man, G>>>>F>>>>DDDDD'ssss !

The key to good pics is take the photos with natural lighting. The photos turn out especially well when its overcast. Also try propping the knife up and getting an angle, I use a marble.

Here is a good pic taken outside.
