I was just checking out Matt's ( ML Knives ) for sale gallery and came across this beauty, I'm suprised we don't see more of his knives appearing on this forum.
If anyone has never checked his work out I highly recommend that you do, all his work has a very distinct look and appears like it could have been passsed down from your grandads grandad. They all come hair popping sharp and keep a great edge. There is already one of his on my christmas list !!!!

i agree... Matt is a cool dude and his knives and leatherwork are top notch... all his blades are rugged and ready to handle just about what ever...

there's a nice ML kephart for sale in the exchange right now...

I've wanted to own one of his for a while, either a hudson bay pattern or woods & bush. But I'd really dig one of those little scandis that he made for a member here a long while back.

I have one that is a bushcraft style, siguy sharpened it to laser status. Excellent value that will outlast me and my sons!

I just bought one and I love it! This place is gonna make me go broke and sleep in my car!!:D

Actually, his Kephart will be my next (custom)purchase. I remember seeing yours(I think) and decided I should have one too:D

Hooray Pit! I don't know why I diddn't start this thread! I second everything you said about Matt. Here are mine...

I have had this one less than a week. I am planning a post on it as soon as I get better pics.

Matt's website was the very first that I actually bookmarked. His knives are beautifully crafted, and when I made my first knife, it was patterned after one of his roach belly models. He is also a really nice fellow and will respond quickly to any emails.

Oh man I love that top knife. How thick is it? I'm in the market for a knife to pair up with the forged tomahawks in my collection.

I have three of his knives, all great users. A Kephart I specially ordered from him, a camp knife I picked up, and a mini Kephart necker I picked up. All great knives.

I really need to get a better camera.:o

Just ordered a knife very similiar to this one from Matt about two weeks ago:thumbup: He described it on his website as a large heavy duty camp knife, it is .25 inch thick and nearly two inches tall from edge to spine:thumbup: I am going out of my mind waiting on it:D Also just ordered a Big Boar Tusker from Scott Gossman:thumbup:

So how do we get in touch with the man to buy a knife? Does he have a website? I love that kind of "primitive forged" look, although that might not be the right way to say it. It's really great design.

I bought a woods and bush here on the forum and have nothing but words of praise. its a great little knife for the price. it has become my fishing knife. and the sheath is great too, the stiching is still strong!!!

*actually have one small pev, the fit and finish on the handle is off slightly. small gapping there, but thats something i can deal with.

i dont seem to have a more recent picture. but the knife now has a nice patina and a bit of rust aka charactor.
