A2 steel, aparantly it is a very tough air hardening high carbon tool steel?

so, 2 questions:

1.) can it be heat treated at home (w/out an oven, like O1 and 1095 etc)
2.) is there any real reason to choose it over the O1 ive been using?

thanks

I'm showing A2 at 1775 F. for hardening with a 'as quenched' Rc of 64. Four hundred dregree F. tempering yeilds Rc 61. It is air quench, as are all 'A' tool steel designations. I have not used A2.
