Would getting the mini griptillian for EDC be worth it ive heard many good things about this knife and id like to hear the opinion of the community btw first post, also serrated or non serrated im new so hi everybody

It's definitely one of the all time great EDCs. Absolutely get the nonserrated version. I don't know if you can sharpen or not but if you ever decide to sharpen it the serrations will make it more difficult. And if you decide to have Benchmade sharpen it they won't sharpen serrated knives.

It's highly regarded here. I didn't like it when I tried it out, thought it was too small and awkward. I prefer its competition, the Spyderco Delica 4 and the Kershaw Leek composite blade. Plus, Spyderco and Kershaw (particularly Kershaw) treat their customers much better than Benchmade does. But there are many fans of the blade. There is, however, an almost unanimous preference for plain edges over combo edges. On these small folders, combo edges don't give you enough serrated blade or plain blade, and the whole thing ends up hard to use.

I've actually had great luck with BM. The omega springs on my mini grip broke after about 4 months, but this seems to be relatively uncommon, and I really like the knife. What do you like about carrying a knife? If lightweight blades tickle your pickle, the delica is more the way to go, and, using another example, the leek is better for an AO, lighter use knife. The bm is also way less flat than either the leek or the delica.

While the Delica is a great knife I feel like the Mini Grip is much more hightech feeling.

i love mine. and as a bonus, i was fortunate enough to have won it here in an online giveaway. makes it twice as nice.

I EDC mine at work, due to the weird grip it´s no knife I would miss if it breaks or something else...
