Good evening sharp edged enthusiasts,

I have recently stumbled upon a rather generous amount of money and am looking to use it wisely ... buy buying a knife (amongst other fencing gear Im currently acquiring)

I have done vigorous research on the net including this forum and have decided on several options.

- Ontario SP5 or SP48 (probably the best overall value)

- Condor Dundee Bowie (Best bang for my buck)

- Knivsmed Stromeng KS9 (premium choice in regards to price and least heard of and least reviewed)

I was wondering if anyone had any useful advice and or experience in regards to these knives and how yours fared out. I recently purchased a Schrade SCHF37 and plan to strip and blue it and want to have a back up in case it goes belly up (It was cheap).

Many thanks,

Zack

If the condor is a low sabre grind, it will suck as a cutter. I have the condor frontier bowie and it is a low sabre grind and it is the worst cutting geometry knife I have ever owned. It literally is a sharpened pry bar, with sharpened in quotes as it is blunt as hell even though it looks sharp

Hmm I think the condor dundee bowie has a sabre grind as you have said. But thanks for the input.

Since you already have the Schrade 7", why not a 'chopper' like the BK4, currently on sale $60~$65. For price/performance, it can't be beat.
