I'm Trying to Figure Out if These Things Are Chinese or Homemade

I went to the knife show and this guy had a sign by his knives saying "My cousin made these knives". Then he makes sure to state that claim verbally to you also. Both knives only cost me $30. All signs point to this being just some MIC knife but i really don't know. I don't have enough experience with the cheapies to have been able to see this somewhere else. So based on my pics, has anyone seen these before? I really like the knives and they were dirt cheap. So, I don't necessarily care if they are junk China knives, but I am curious.

"My cousin made these knives" doesn't necessarily mean that he hand-forged or hand-ground the blades. It could just mean that he bought the finished parts from a company that sells do-it-yourself knife-kits, and he simply assembled the various parts. The blade and the brass parts of the top knife look like knife-kit parts to me.

On the Chinese-brand sites I've seen, there tend to be few fixed blades. But that doesn't mean they aren't cheap imports from Pakistan or elsewhere. But I like small fixed blades, so I might have sprung for them too, just to see.

My impression just from looking at the pictures,
The top one looks like a kit blade.
The second looks more handmade.

From the looks, the sheaths seem to be well made. And the second smaller knife is cute, I liked it as well. So Chinese or hand made, you liked them and that's what matters. Also, no, I don't think these are cheap Chinese imports from what little I know about knives.

Hmm, cool. I am carring the lil baby knife today with me and it is very handy. i do concur that the sheaths are very nice. The baby one even has a belt loop sewn in. Not bad for $14 Thanks for the info.

The little one is cute. Do a little sharpening on it and you will be able to tell how good the steel is.
