I'm trying to identify a sword(?)

Hello everyone.

A bit of a while ago a colleague of mine intercepted a sword before it went into the trash. Now we're curious as to what it might be.

I see no markings on the blade to indicate any one's work, so my Google searches got me no further than the assumption that it's a spadroon of sorts?

I would love to get some help,
as I am mighty curious.

Assuming those are 12 inch tiles it looks like a roughly 24 inch blade? Is it sharpened? It's barely possible its some sort of fraternal piece, but my guess (and it is a guess)is decorative doodad.
