I'm without CRK and I hate it!

So long story short, I sold my last CRK knife, a large 21, a few months ago and once again I miss having just one CRK let alone a collection.

Trying to trade my Dozier custom and some Spydies, but no takers. :(

You first realize how great they are when you own one, and then you realize you can't live without them but it's too late!

And to add to it I have no idea which one I want to restart with. I'm considering a large plain 21, a large inlay 21, or an Umnumzaan. I want this next one to be important and special somehow, one that starts my permanent collection, the one that I carry every day no matter what. Ideas?

How long is the wait to order something from CRK? I'll probably need that long to get the money together anyway.

I feel the same way. I just sent in my Small Classic last week to get it fitted with the new perforated washers and I feel like I'm missing a part of me. :( I can't wait to get it back.

I sold mine to get something else......I really want another, but am waiting to see if they change the Sebenza over to S35VN so my M4 Mini Ritter will do for now.

If I was starting all over again I'd get a large Insingo.

Really? I was unsure about that one. You think it's really that good?

Good point. I asked them about that a few months ago, Heather said she knew of no plans to do so. It will probably happen after the Ti-Lock if ever.

I started several years ago with a Large "Regular" Sebenza. I simply love this knife and although I have 3 other Sebenzas, the Regular is the one for me. I actually waited to get back from Holiday before sending in my sebbie to the spa because I didn't want to be without it. Next on my short list is a Mnandi.

I was in the same boat - I sold my large Sebenza, which was a new Classic that I found in a local gun store that had been on their shelves since 2008.

I missed the knife - and ended up recently picking up a new Umnumzaan. As much as I liked and miss the Sebbie - I like the Umnumzaan more.

Of course, I just picked up a Nyala (came yesterday). I'm in CRK overload right now. The Umnum is only about 2 weeks old.

Do you think its strange to sit on the sofa holding the Umnum in one hand and the Nyala in the other? Kids and wife are giving me strange looks.

These two are keepers - I'm not going to be without CRK again.

I really like my Umnumzaan, but my large micarta classic is my favorite. If you can find one, get yourself a large micarta classic, or settle for a micarta 21. I had a few plain classics and regulars, that I used instead of the micarta models I have. The micarta spoils you!

I had a small Classic micarta that I really liked years ago, more recently a large 21 micarta. I think I prefer the 21.

I always debate between the two. If I have a plain I think oh wouldn't it be nice to have the micarta model. If I have the micarta I think oh look how simple and pretty the plain model is.

i would get the plain 21. you can always scotchbrite the handles and give them a nice "antique" finish.

I am exactly the same in debating between either inlaid or plain Sebenzas, and also between the Large and Small Sebenza.

For me I have found that the perfect solution is a plain small Sebenza and an inlaid large Sebenza, African Blackwood in my instance.

Yeah that's a good combo. I think I'd do it the other way maybe, a small micarta and large plain. But for some reason I like the wood larges better.

The wait is finally over! Found a NIB Large Regular Sebenza!!!! Also got a Nyala to go with it. Pics to follow, prob vid too.

Where?

I need to go out and hunt one down. I can't find enough Regulars.

Scott Moore (Moore knives) lives near me. Found out he had one left and I snagged it.

Having these in my hands again things just make sense. As far as production knives go, CRK is it for me. I love Spyderco too, but I always end up selling them or getting bored with them. I'm going to start a permanent and well thought out collection of CRK knives and nothing else except for the occasional custom. I really want a large Insingo and Mnandi next!
