iMac line in?

Just discovered that new iMacs lack mic in
wtf? should i buy iMic? or some kind of external sound card altogether?
I remember times when Macs were famous for its audio capabilities

They have a built in mic but for serious audio recording you would want to record thru a USB pre-amp anyway!!

Actually i just looked and they do have an audio in 1/8 jack! Hope this helps!

Yep, that funny symble is for mic/line in. The USB devices that others already mentioned really are best, specially on a modern mac. I used to sell USB audio devices for macs years ago. There are some nice stuff out there.
