I stopped into a Barnes and Nobel bookstore before heading off to college and on a whim, asked if they had either of Imada's books. They searched and said no, BUT they could have them within a week. Great, now I can get them brand new for a good price without having to pay any shipping. They didn't even take a deposit and said there was no obligation to buy em once they did arrive.

Well, they came in and I picked them up today for 12.95 each, brand new. Let me first say, this book is bigger than I expected. I was expecting a standard paperback size and was caught by surprise when each one turned out to be standard paper size (8 x 11 1/2" ?) I thumbed through them at the counter, paid the lady, and left.

Now that I'm home and I've had a chance to go through them page by page, I discovered I am missing quite a bit from the Balisong Manual. The book starts fine, gets to page 16 then the next pages are 33-48, then back to another set of pages 33-127. I have no pages 18-32 anywhere in this book. Did I get a lemon or is it like this in other peoples books?

I don't know if the value of the book is increased since it has quite an error, but the Advanced Balisong Manual is perfect from cover to cover.

Should I return this one and see if I can get a good one, or keep this one and order another?

You are missing all those pages from your Balisong Manual, I strongly recommend taking it back and getting one with all of the pages, even if you have to wait for another week at least you'd get it all. Both of my Imada Manuals have all the pages and you are missing quite a bit, not any manipulations but other cool information. :)

Just a printing problem, I'm sure. Take it back. The problem is obvious and I'm sure that they'll replace 'em ASAP.

You know, I always laugh to see these books close at twice their retail price in auctions. These books are still very much in print. Your local big-box book store can order them in in a few days. You can get 'em from Amazon.com. There is no reason to buy a used copy from some auction for more than retail plus S&H on top of that.

Would one of you guys be as nice too give me the book titles for each so I can have my local Barnes and Noble to order me some??
Thanks Guys, Todd

"BaliLover"...just so you are aware. The EXACT same thing happened to me (same pages missing). I ordered both Imada manuals for my nephew after finding "notes" he made in mine.

Chuck is right.., obviously a printing error.., and they did replace those I ordered in less than a week with "The Real Deal".
