Image Posting Change?

As recently as a year ago I was able to post images directly from my computer, an' did so. Now it seems I've got to use an Image Hosting site to store, then copy & paste from, to insert images into a post.
Maybe I'm being unobservant to a feature of convenience that is more hidden than it was...or than I recall, more likely.
I'll be grateful for pertinent guidance about this; truth is I don't use online image sites, so it's gonna be a bitter pill to find that I must, here. Thanks either way, though!

I drift in an' out of knives, as I'm trying to get rid of a lifetime collection of other stuff, too.
Forgot completely to renew my membership. Sorry for the slip of my alleged mind...
