I am wondering if you guys have any of these. I just bought a 4000 grit and it's really amazing. I free hand mostly ( and sometimes use a Sharpmaker for touch-ups) but this really puts a great edge on. I'm one of those guys who never went past 1000 g. , but now I'm a convert. I don't think I even need to strop much after coming off this one. I'll try to post pics later when I find my camera.
ps. Been watching Murry Carter lately. He usually uses 1000 and 6000 and gets really good results. My present set-up now is a 220 and 1000 Norton waterstone and my new Imanishi 4000. Leather strop with cr02 and 1000,1500,&2000 sandpaper/mousepad for the convex stuff. All bases covered :)

AFAIK Imanishi is the parent company for bester stones and arashiyama stones. I have a 1k and 6k arashiyama and a 10k Imanishi, very good stones with a natural stone feel.

The place that had it has the Bester stones as well. I have never heard of Imanishi or Bester before so thanks for the info. So far it's working out really well. I'm using a stone pond with a clamping system for my waterstones.
