Impala Blades?

Anybody heard of this maker? All Google and Bing find for me are Chevy Impala wiper blades... I'm not looking for values, just info. Is it likely to be real damascus steel?

One of my friends has an Impala Blades knife, it is real damascus but not high quality damascus. It looks good and feels good in hand, but it isn't much of a cutter.

...as opposed to just a pattern etched onto the blade meant to look like damascus.

Is this the same as Impalaknives that sells on eBay?

Don't know anything about their knives, but they have an 83% approval rating. That's the lowest I've ever seen on eBay.

I have since found his facebook page and a couple of auction listings for him. I saw one of his knives for $80 at a local gunshop, but I think I'll pass.

There is an Impala knives in Michigan. He is a custom maker of some fine quality blades. Not sure if this is the same guy though. He is at most of the knife shows around here.

I know it is a small family business in Brighton mi. I have seen them at gun shows, and have very nice looking, heavy knives. I wish I had bought one but at the time I was frantically looking for a certain ammo type. Months later I realized I wanted a damascus knife and these people are realy nowhere to be found. I refuse to buy a knife I cannot see and hold before hand so ebay is out of the question.
