Here is an Imperial knife set from the Codger collection. My Imperial catalog and ad resources are limited, but I did find the set in my 1974 Belknap Catalog listed as C7-HK3506B. The set consists of a 8 7/8" hunting knife, 5" carbon steel clip point blade with scaling notches on the spine and black "imitation bone" handles held to the full tang with two brass rivets, nickle silver guard, and a four blade scout knife "Kamp King" in a two compartmented leather belt sheath. The packaging is curious in that it bears the magazine title...an endorsement? A SFO? I have often seen these sets refered to as "Boy Scout" sets, and yes, I do remember quite a few Scouts carrying them, though I haven't seen the knives or sheaths marked with scout stamps or etches.

(yes, I've been saving up during the down time!)

Codger, that fixed blade pattern used to be VERY common. It seems like when I was Boy Scout age they were made by a dozen different companies (or a dozen different tang stamps). Now I rarely ever see even a picture of the pattern much less the actual kinives. As I recall they were extremely inexpensive even by 1940 standards. I'm kind of casually looking for one just for old times sake. Thanks for the post. It brought back pleasant memories.

Paul,
Is this what you are looking for?
It's a Utica Sportsman - no Boy Scout markings. Cheaply made.
