Haven't bought anything of interest to you guy on ebay for long time. But here is something I got in the mail today that one of my friends here gave me a heads up on. It's an Imperial Frontier salesman's advertising sample case. Along with the outer white sleeve and inner paperwork. Great knives, with company logos printed on the side reversed of the powderhorn shield.
It's from 1977, and as I have noted here before, these knives were really pushed as advertisers; Such companies as Chrysler, Boeing, Ford, Mac and snapon tools had their logos or whatever put on them. Some of these knives were used as awards to employees, others given to customers. Those emblazoned with Mac or snap-on were sold out of their jobber's trucks.

A hint when you buy a knife from an ebay seller... or anyone else.. where the knife comes in the fragile molded tray: Ask them to package the knives separately!

But I am happy with the set.

All I need now to make my Frontier collection complete is the 1978 issue from Parker cutlerly... which were all Imperial Schrade, including I*XL and Frontier knives with Parker tang stampings.

At least I think that is all I need... Have a guy in california that would like to sell me a full size, over four foot tall mint condition retail knife display cabinet. $125 for the case, $125 for the shipping....

Very cool set Phil... I just wish I could gain deals like that..

I've only been able to find knives by themselves, some in the box but not any actual display boxes yet or cases. :thumbdn:
well maybe someday..... one can only dream and then try to fulfill those dreams
